Biography
Martha was born about 1834-1835 at Bow, Middlesex, England, the daughter of Alfred Tagg and Esther Tagg.
On the 9th June 1862, Martha and her husband to be Henry Rumsley [sic] were witnesses at the marriage of Martha's sister Rebecca Tagg to Alfred Boulton at All Saints with St. Margaret, Upper Norwood, Surrey, England.[1]
On the 18th August 1862, Martha Tagg married Henry John Rumley at St. Alphege, Greenwich, Kent, England. Henry John Rumley, bachelor, waterman of Greenwich, son of George Thomas Rumley (gardener); and Martha Tagg, spinster of Greenwich, daughter of Alfred Tagg (printer). Witnessed by Cornelius Tagg and Rebecca Button?[2]
In 1896, Martha was a shopkeeper living at Bushy Park, Glenna, Tasmania, Australia.[3]
When Martha wrote her will on the 10th September 1896 she named her husband Henry John Rumley and her brother Cornelius Tagg of Dartford, kent, England and her sisters Rebecca Bolton, of Dartford, widow, Amelia Jane Challise, wife of William Challise of Dartford, Bricklayer, and Esther Stacey wife of Henry Stacey of Dartford, Bricklayer.[3]
She passed away on the 2nd July 1907 at Tasmania, Australia.[4]
