Biography

William was born in September 1839 in Green County, Kentucky. He was the son of James Edward Tandy and Almira Sullivan.

He married Sarah Ann Wade on 28 September 1859 in Taylor County, Kentucky.^[1]

They were the parents of at least the following children:

• James Edward Tandy
• William Green Tandy
• Margaret E Tandy
• Thomas Winfrey Tandy
• John H Tandy
• Emma Lena Tandy
• Joseph Madison Tandy
• Richard E Tandy
• Arthur E Tandy

Between 1880 and 1885 William moved his family to Kansas where they were included in the census taken in Sumner County. His wife Sarah died while they were there and she is buried in the Prairie Lawn Cemetrey.

William returned to Kentucky after his wife's death. He married Eliza Jane Gault on 1 March 1888 in Marion County, Kentucky.^[2]

They were the parents of two children:

• Benjamin Franklin Tandy
• Robert Irvin Tandy

William died on 27 May 1916 in Taylor County, Kentucky. He was buried in the Tandy Cemetery.^[3]
