Jeno Taub was born on June 17, 1930, at 27 Liptay Street, Kisvarda, Hungary. His parents were Erno Taub, a lumber salesman, and Irén (Friedmann) Taub, a housewife. He was the younger brother of Miksa, only two years his elder.
During the Second World War, the family fell apart. June 2, 1944 was the last time either boy saw their parents again.
The boys were survivors of the Holocaust, and displaced on April 25, 1944, later arriving at the DP Camp Föhrenwald, Wolfratshausen on October 1, 1945.
On June 7, 1947, the pair arrived in New York. At this point, at least on the passenger list of the "Marine Marlin", Miksa's name appears to have changed to Mordcha/Mordecai, although this may be a mistake.
Jeno died in July of 1979, just after his 49th birthday.
