Biography

John was born in 1705. Edwin L. Green, in A History of Richland County (South Carolina), Vol. I, 1732-1805, states that he "came from Virginia in 1749 and made his home on Back Swamp on the Bluff Road. His family became prominent in the history of the county."[1] He passed away in 1766.[2]

Will: John Taylor dated 29 July 1766- Charleston Co., SC Publication: Old Will Book, 1761-1766, page 19 Proved on 11 May 1767 Will names his son John Taylor, daughter Martha Taylor, young sons James Taylor and William Taylor, my oldest son Thomas, daughter Elizabeth, mentions Mary.
