Jessie was born in 1892 in Essex County, VA. He was the son of Robert Taylor and [[Jessie-83|Nannie Jessie].
Jessie Lee registered for the WWI draft in June 1917. His occupation was “farming”. On the 1920 census, at the age of 48, it listed Jessie as owning his own home, occupation as “farmer” and having completed elementary school/2nd grade.
On 14 Apr 1920 he married Lilian Byrd White. They had 5 children, 3 daughters and 2 sons. By 1935 they had moved to Chesterfield County, VA where they lived the remained of their lives. It was here he passed away in 1971 of “Cerebral vascular accident (immediate) due to hypotensive arteriosclerosis (10 years)”. He is buried at the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
