George Frederick Taylor was born in about 1848 in Birmingham, Warwickshire.[1] He was the son of William Taylor and Ann Eliza Corbett. He was baptised on 7 July 1854 at St. Bartholomew in Birmingham.[2]
George was a grocer.
George married Caroline Reading on 5 March 1872 in Birmingham, the marriage recorded in non-conformist registers (above).[3] George and Caroline had the following children:
Alice Elizabeth Taylor was born in 1873 in Birmingham.[4]
Francis Joseph Taylor was born in 1875 in Handsworth in Staffordshire, near Birmingham.[5] Francis was a metal stamper and piercer and married his cousin Annie Dawson Gough.
Harry William Taylor was born in 1876, probably in Handsworth.[6] He died in 1877.[7]
George Frederick Taylor was born in 1877 in Birmingham.[8]
George Frederick Taylor died in 1877 probably in Handsworth, his death registered in the quarter before the birth of his youngest son, so the two George Frederick's never met. He was 29.[9]
The births of Alice , Francis and George were recorded in non-conformist registers on 4 July 1880 in Birmingham, named as the children of George Frederick and Caroline, and residing at 12 Noel Road Edgbaston.[10] This was the address of Caroline's mother, so it seems that she moved their after George Frederick's death.[11]
