Albert Taylor was the son of John G Taylor (1828–1881) and Frances A Gleason (1838–1917), was born on 12 Nov 1861 and grew up in Rockton, Winnebago County, Illinois. He married his first wife, Emma Jane Gummow (1861–1887), on 24 Dec 1885 in Winnebago County, Illinois, but she died suddenly in Rockton on 9 Nov 1887.[1][2][3]
Albert Taylor and Mary Scott had the following child:

Albert and Mary farmed and raised their only daughter in Shirland, and were together for nearly fifty years. Albert died on 9 June 1939 at age 77 in Shirland, and was buried on 11 June 1939 in North Burritt Cemetery in Winnebago County, Illinois. His obituary ran in the Freeport Journal-Standard on 10 June 1939.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11]
“Shirland, Ill., June 10.--Albert Taylor, 76, died last night at his home. Mr. Taylor was born in Rockton township Nov. 12 1862, the son of John and Frances Taylor. Surviving are his widow, Mary; a daughter, Lottie Wicks; a grand-daughter, Ginda [sic] Studlar; a great-grandson, Leroy Studlar, and two nieces, Helen Taylor and Vivian Cannell. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist church in Shirland. Burial will be in Burritt cemetery.”
