Mary L Scott was the daughter of James Scott (1832-1916) and Charlotte (Brown) Scott (1842-1935), born on 29 June 1860 and raised in Harrison, Winnebago County, Illinois.[1][2]
Mary married Albert Taylor in 1890.[3]
Albert Taylor and Mary Scott had the following child:
Albert and Mary farmed and raised their only daughter in Shirland, and were together for nearly fifty years. Albert died on 9 June 1939 at age 77 in Shirland, and was buried on 11 June 1939 in North Burritt Cemetery in Winnebago County, Illinois.[4][5][6][7][8][9]
Mary remained in Shirland and died there on 12 Apr 1947 at age 86. She was buried on 16 Apr 1947 in North Burritt Cemetery with her husband. Her obituary ran in the Monroe Evening Times in Monroe, Wisconsin, on 14 Apr 1947.[10][11][12][13][14]“Mrs. Mary Taylor Dies
“Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Mary Taylor, 86, Shirland, Ill., a life-long resident of that vicinity, who is a cousin of Mrs. Violet Morton. Mrs. Taylor was here April 1 for a birthday party on Mrs. Iva Denny. Mrs. Taylor is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lottie Wicks, Rockford, a brother and sister, Lum Scott and Mrs. Ina Peck, Shirland; one grandchild. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon in the Shirland Methodist church, with burial at Britt [sic] cemetery. Mrs. Morton and Mrs. Denny will attend the funeral.”
