He was born about 1588, being baptised at Nieuwkerke, Flanders, Belgium on 3 Jun 1588. His godparents were Joseph Bocquillion and Janeky Godtschalck. [1] He was the son of Giles Tayspill and Francoise Godtschalck.
He married firstly at Nieuwkerke, Flanders on 6 May 1608, Francine (Franzijne in register) Waghemakere, daughter of Adam Waghmeakere. [2] They had at least two children.
He married secondly, about 1623, Marie de Zeure, daughter of Francois de Zeure. [3]
Jean Tayspill died a burgess of Ypres on 9 May 1631 at Nieuwkerke, Flanders, his estate being divided amongst his children by an act of parliament passed before the sheriff of Ypres 19 Jul 1631. [4]
His second wife survived him. There was a memorial service for the souls of Jean Tayspill and his wife at Nieuwkerke, Flanders on 30 Mar 1647. [5]
