Wilhelm Gottlieb was born in 1761. He was the son of Georg Tennemann. He studied philosophy at the university of Jena where he became Professor himself in 1798. In 1795, he married Christine Sophie Johanne Rus. In 1804, he was appointed Professor of Philosophy at the university of Marburg. He passed away in Marburg in 1819.
His death date is given as 30 September by Wikipedia but as 1 October by Deutsche Biographie. Presumably, he died on 30 September and was buried on 1 October.
