You sent a private message to the New Netherland Settlers project regarding Gumaer-18 (Peter Gumaer) and saying (in part) "looks like you lack information" (information that you apparently possess, as Gumaer family historian). I do not know who you were referring to when you wrote the word "you," but I would like you to think of Wikitree as "we." "We" are not some kind of professional genealogy service, nor a batch of building compiling a website in the vain hope of repackaging it as a book, but rather a collection of hobbyists and family historians who post our family history data on WikiTree and try to support one another in building, maintaining, and improving a free interconnected compendium of everybody's genealogy. We do not need to be told that many profiles (such as that one) are deficient; instead, we need for people like you to become full members of WikiTree and get engaged in adding some of your good information to this website.

The New Netherland Project account is a profile manager on thousands of profiles, not to claim permanent dibs on all future genealogical research on those people, but to help foster productive research and collaboration on these people. I imagine the reason why it's the only profile manager for Peter Gumaer is that the other profile managers dropped away, and no other individual members have shown up to get involved. We need you!
