Erskine's Death Notices reads:
- "TEYS, Erskine James - August 23, 1948 at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, dearly loved husband of Mary Veronica, loved father of Sylvia, Kevin, Bernard (deceased), Kenneth, Vincent, Norman (deceased), loved brother of Elsie (Mrs. Star), Norman, Stanley, Mona, Corrie, Ruby (Mrs. Bridgeland), aged 54 years. Requiescat in pace.
- TEYS, Erskine James - August 23, 1948 dearly loved eldest son of the late James Rowland and Henrietta Teys and loved brother of Elsie (Mrs. Star), Norman, Stanley, Mona and Corrie (late of Toowoomba and West Queensland) Queensland papers please copy." After Requiem Mass at St. Joseph's, Camperdown he was buried at Rookwood (Section M2, Row 11, Plot 1899)
