Biography
Rosa Burke Thach was born on January 31, 1878 in Perquimans, North Carolina. Her parents were Richard Thach and his first wife, Elizabeth Burke, with whom she lived in 1878 in Hertford.[1]
She married George Chappell on 18 Jan 1900.[2] Of the six children they had together, two died in infancy and two lived to see their 100th birthdays.
She died on October 12, 1911 in Perquimans, North Carolina and is buried at Chappell Family Cemetery. [3]

- Richard Beale Chappell; born in March and died in May 1901.
- Sybil Elizabeth Chappell Winslow Ward (1903-1970); married twice, 1st Joseph Benjamin Winslow, 2nd Joseph Parker Ward.
- Mabel White Chappell Orr (1904-2005) married Tillman J. Orr. She lived to be 100.
- George Watson Chappell (1908-1968) married Sadie Virginia Woltz.
- Lorenzo Dow Chappell (1900-2001) married Tallew Mae Copeland. Lived to be 100. [4]
- Infant Chappell born and died 8 Oct 1911, no gender specified.
