Samuel was the son of John Thomas and Phoebe (Blankenship).[1]

Married Juliet McKinney on 30 November 1829 in Giles County, Virginia.[2] Juliet died in April of 1857.[3]

Samuel, 54, married Mary Stowers, age 20, on 21 October 1857 at Tazewell County, Virginia.[4]
