Catherine was born about 1829. She was the daughter of John Thomas and Mary Rees. She was baptised 24 May 1829 in St Nicholas, Glamorgan, Wales. ^[1][2]

She married John John (abt.1828-) on 17 July 1849 in Llancarfan, Glamorgan, Wales.^[3][4]

Census

In 1841, Catherine was living with her mother and siblings in Llancarfan, Glamorgan, Wales.^[5]

Research Notes

The 1841 census has Catherine and her family living with John Thomas, a 75 year old tailor. On Catherine and her siblings baptism records, their father was recorded as a pedlar. On Catherine's marriage it says her father was a tailor. As of 28 Feb 2024, I am awaiting the marriage certificate for George Thomas (abt.1831-) to hopefully get a better idea whether the John Thomas they were living with was their father or another relation.
