Biography

John Thompson was probably born in Surry County, North Carolina around 1790, since his father stated that he lived there until 1800 in his pension application. His parents were Frederick Thompson and Nancy Coker. He married Mary Lake around 1815 in Walton County, Georgia. since their son Elisha was born around that time. He died in May 1850.[1]

Notes

There is no evidence he was married to a Nancy Scarborough so her profile has been detached as his spouse. In Clarke County, there were 2 John Thompsons who lived at the same time. This John Thompson lived in the old Cutoff in Walton County, Georgia and was married to Mary Lake.
