Sarah was born in 1869 in Gransha, Islandmagee, County Antrim, Ireland, the daughter of Robert Thompson a Mariner and Sarah Arthurs, Her birth was registered by Sarah Gibson of Ballymuldrogh, Islandmagee.[1]
In 1901 she was a 31 year old unmarried housekeeper living alone in Gransha, Islandmagee.[2]
In 1903 she married John Ferguson in 1st Carrickfergus Presbyterian Church, County Antrim. He was a widower and mariner from Gransha, Islandmagee and she was also from Gransha. The witnesses were Charles Thompson and Mary Ferguson.[3]
