Biography

Mary Buckner Thruston, daughter of Charles Mynn Thurston, was born on 31 July 1772, in Frederick County, Virginia.[1][2]

Mary married Charles Magill, son of John and Magdalene (Dickson) Magill, who was born in Ireland on July 10, 1760 and came to Winchester, Virginia with his father in 1766.[3]

The following record is in the handwriting of Colonel Charles Magill, son of John Magill "the emigrant": "I was married to Mary Buckner Thruston, May 24, 1794"[3]

Mary was Charles' second wife[4] His first had been Elizabeth Daingerfield.[1]

  • Mary Buckner Thomston [Thurston] Magill, born on 13 July 1809, married Robert Lee Randolph (born 1791)[1] Mary Buckner Thruston Magill[3]
  • Augustine Smith Magill, born 1 September 1811[3]
  • Frances Catherine Magill, born 1813, married Thomas Griffin Gordon[1] born 16 July 1813[3]
  • Buckner Thruston Magill, born 30 May 1815[3]

Charles died in Winchester on April 16, 1827;[5] Mary died there on 16 April 1850.[1]
