Biography

Hope Thurston was born September 8, 1727, in Little Compton, Rhode Island, the youngest child of Edward Thurston and Sarah Carr. ^[1]

On December 26, 1751, in Little Compton, Newport County, Rhode Island, Hope married Ichabod Potter. ^[2] Hope and Ichabod resided in Westport, Massachusetts, where they became the parents of children, including:

• Thurston Potter, born October 25, 1757, died June 16, 1844, in New Bedford, Massachusetts ^[3] married Deborah Nye ^[4]

• Ichabod Potter, III, born 1758, in Westport, Will porbated August 14,1820, married Synthia Maccumber, on February 10, 1794, in Westport. ^[5] Wife's name is aka Cynthia Macomber

• Edward Potter, born circa 1765, who died April 26, 1845, in New Bedford, Bristol county, Massachusetts. ^{[6] [7]}
