Andrew Jackson "A.J." Tidwell was born January 17, 1922 to Robert Tidwell and Rachel Bench in White Rock, Texas.

He served the United States Army during World War II. He enlisted on July 19, 1944 and was discharged on August 20, 1946.^[1]

He married Billie Jean Baker on November 28, 1946 in Hunt County, Texas.^[2]

He died, at the age of 70, on April 29, 1992 in Tarrant County, Texas.^[3][4] He is buried at the Forest Park Cemetery, Greenville, Hunt County, Texas.^[5]
