Biography

Edward was born in 1750. He passed away in 1815. He graduated from what is now the University of Pennsylvania in 1767 and received his legal training at the Middle Temple in London.

To son Benjamin. To son Edward. After death of wife, my silver tankard to son Edward, then to his eldest son, and if he has no son, then to my grandson Edward Tilghman.

To daughter Elizabeth, lands in Green County, and my son Benjamin, lands now or lately in Centre County.

To daughter Anna Mary, share in Bank of U.S., in name of Dr. Kuhn, and money secured on my Maryland estate.

Execs: Wife Elizabeth, son Benjamin Tilghman. Wife to be Guardian to daughter Mary, and after her death, my son-in-law William Cooke, Jr.
