On 23 Aug 1834, Henry Timberlake of Livermore, Maine, and Mary Whitman of Turner, Maine, published at Turner their intention to marry, and they married at Turner on 13 Nov 1834.[3]
Henry Timberlake married Betsey Dagget Adams. No record of the marriage has been found, but the birth date of Betsey D. Timberlake on her gravestone, 1 Mar 1830,[4] exactly matches the birth date of Betsey Dagget Adams at Wilton, Maine.[5] Their first known child, Maria, was five at the time of the 1860 Census.[6]
Residences
Henry and Mary Timberlake setlled at Livermore, Maine, after their marriage, and their only known child, William H. Timberlake, was born there in August 1835,[7] and they were still there in 1840.[8] In 1850, Henry Timberlake was living at a rooming house at Louisville, Kenctucky, and his son William was living with his uncle, Nathan Timberlake, at Livermore.[9] No record has been found of Mary Timberlake in that census, and she had probably died. By 1860, Henry was back at Livermore, and was living there with his second wife, Betsey, and a five-year-old child, Maria Timberlake,[6] and in 1870, Henry and Betsey were at Livermore with two children, 8 and 9 years old.[10] Henry apparently remained at Livermore until his death in 1873.
Children
Henry Timberlake was the father of the following children, all probably born at Livermore, Maine. The first was with Mary (Whitman) Timberlake and is recorded in the vital records of Livermore.[7] The others are with Betsey (Adams) Timberlake and are known only from census data.[11]
