Biography

Reliance Tobey was born in March 1695 in Sandwich, Barnstable, Province of Massachusetts Bay, the daughter of John and Jane Tobey.

married Thomas Ewer in Sandwich on 10 June 1718.^[1] He died before 7 May 1761. His inventory by John Ewer was presented on 9 July 1761, and totaled £92 of which £67 was real estate. The estate had debts of £73, of which £54 was due to John Ewer, and was deemed insolvent.^[2]

She and her husband were named in her father, John Tobey Sr.'s will dated 9 July 1733 and proved February 1738 [/9 ?]. He named his wife, Jane; sons Thomas, John, Ebenezer and Eleaser; son-in-law Richard Garret; daughters Mary Clark and Reliance Ewer; son John and son-in-law Thomas Ewer were named as his Executors.^[3]
