Biography

He is the son of GIdeon Todd.

Charles Todd [1](Gideon5, Elizabeth Sarah8, Thomas2, Peter1), born at New Haven, Conn., 10 Apr. 1740, died there 15 June 1772; married at New Haven, 16 Aug. 1764, Peninah Peck, born at New Haven, 5 Aug. 1740, died --—. She mar¬ ried second, 5 July 1775, David Hotchkiss.

He drowned in Long Island Sound.

War Rolls. He served from May to Nov. 1759 in the 11th Co. (Capt. Thomas Wilmot), 2d Regt.; from Mar. to Nov. 1760 in the 6th Co. (Capt. Amos Hitchcock), 2d Regt.; and from Apr. to Nov. 1761 in the 1st Co. (Col. Nathan Whiting), 2d Regt.

Children, born at New Haven:

  1. Rhoda7, b. 20 June 1765; m. Joseph Beebe, b. at Waterbury, Conn., 9 Jan. 1765; they rem. in 1791 to Cortland County, N. Y.,
  2. Charles, b. 12 Oct. 1767; d. Dec. 1773.
  3. Amos, b. 15 Nov. 1769; d. at Homer, N. Y., Sept. 1830; m. at Great Bend, Pa., Apr. 1794, Lurana Strong, b. at Lee, Mass., 4 Dec. 1777, d. at Sandusky, Ohio, Feb. 1851.
