BIOGRAPHY

William was born in 1874 at Snitterby House,Lincolnshire, England U.K, he was the son of Toft Trafford and Sarah (Cundell)) Trafford.

Willaim was christenned 15 February, 1878.

William married Jessie Abbott Mair at St Lukes Church, Gisborne on14 April, 1909.

They had two sons and two daughters.

William and one of his brothers commenced Sheep Farming at Hangaroa, out of Gisborne, New Zealand.Iit was wild country.in those days, they trekked the materials in by horse and cart and established a homestead around 1920.

On visiting the proerty in 1956 it was still a Journey, from Wairengaokuri one travels west into the foothills of the Urawera's.The road in is a Private Road, one has to negotiate many gates across the road , which have to be reinstated to the way they were on arrival.

William passed away in 1935 and is buried at the Taruheru Cemetery, Gisborne, New Zealand
