Bartholomew was born about 1640.
He married Jane Bryant (transcription variants Bruart/Briant) on 18 July 1665 in St Stephen in Brannel, Cornwall.[1]
He died about 1676.
In his will, proved 1666, Bartholomew's father who was also called Bartholomew bequeathed his son and his daughter Embling a tenement called Venternan Corran. The inventory of the younger Bartholomew's son Thomas's will (proved 1743) shows that he held a tenement called St Morish.[2]
These places are in what is now called Coryan in the village of Nanpean in St Stephen in Brannel. Venternan Corrian is evidently what is now called Fenton Farm. Fenton signifies Fountain and St Morish was the site of a holy well.
A schedule of archaeological sites shows that the places in question are only a few metres apart and Venternan Corrian and St Morish are doubtless names for what was effectively the same place.
Thomas thus undoubtedly inherited the tenement from his grandfather Bartholomew via his father Bartholomew.[3][4]
