Biography

Henry, son of George Tryon and Elizabeth Wingfield, was baptized on 17 Mar 1793 in Harrington [1]. He married Catherine Sophia Curling, daughter of Edward Spencer Curling, 24 July 1817 in Swanscombe, Kent, England [2]. They had children Henry, Kate, and Edward. Catherine died in 1857 and Henry remarried to Margaret Read 24 Feb 1858 [3]. He died 3 Dec 1866 in Surbiton [4].

On 12 Oct 1852 Second Lieutenant Henry Tryon to be First Lieutenant by purchase vice Elliott.[5]

In 1851 and 1861 he was a Lieutenant, Royal Navy; on half pay in 1861.

Text of Death Notice

HENRY TRYON, Esq., Deceased.

Pursuant to the Act of Parliament 22nd and 23rd Victorial esp. 35, intituled [sic], "An Act to further amend the Law of Property, and to relieve Trustees."
NOTICE is hereby given, that all creditors and other persons having any claim or demand against the estate of Henry Tryon, formerly of Deal, in the county of Kent, but late of Surbiton-on-Thames, in the county of Surrey, Esq., a Captain in the Royal Navy, deceased (who died on the 3rd day of December, 1866, at Surbiton-on-Thames aforesaid, and whose will was proved in the Principal Registry of Her Majesty's Court of Probate, on the 3rd day of January, 1867, by Robert Curling, Esq., the surviving executor named therein(, are required on or before the 1st day of May next, to send to us, the undersigned, the particulars of their claims upon or against the estate of the said testator, and at the expiration of such time the said executor will distribute or pay over the whole of the assets of the said testator among the parties or to be parties entitled thereto, having regard to those claims only of which we shall then have notice; and that he, the said executor, will not be liable for any part of the assets so distributed or paid over to any person of whose claim we shall not then have notice.—Dated this 5th day of April, 1867.
