Jerusha was the oldest child and first daughter of Timothy Tucker and his wife Mindwell Ingraham Tucker. She was born October 9, 1757, in Milton, Norfolk Co., Massachusetts, just south of Boston. She had 8 younger siblings. She had just turned 18 when she married Jacob Lyon, a fifer in the Massachusetts militia and American patriot, in November 1775 at Milton's Congregational Church.
She and Jacob had 7 children together:
Jacob Lyon died in Wellesley, Norfolk, Mass., on January 3, 1829. He is buried in the Wellesley Congregational Church Cemetery, Wellesley, Norfolk County, Mass. Jerusha survived him, moving back to her native Milton, until she passed away on October 6, 1840.
