He married Mattie Hutchins Coker 2 Sep 1875, in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.

Judge of County Court of Troupe County, GA. Represented Troupe County in Legislature in 1884-5.

Served in C.S.A. 4th GA Volunteers 41st GA Regiment

Retired from the bench to become a Methodist Minister.
