Marriage

On March 4, 1836, Peter Cannaday married Mildred Ann Turner in Franklin County.[1][2]

In 1850, Peter Canady, a 37 year old farmer, lived with his wife Mildred A., 35, and five children: Martha E., 13; Caroline, 12; Eliza, 10; Mary E., 6; and William T., 2. All were born in Virginia.[3]

1870 US Federal Census Long Branch, Franklin, Virginia

In 1870, Peter Cannaday, a 56 year old farmer, lived with his wife Milly, 52; and Tazewell Cannaday, 22; and Madison Cannaday, 13. Frank Woods, a 26 year old black laborer, is living with the family.[4]

Mildred was born in 1817. She was the daughter of George Turner and Mildred Stone. She passed away in 1894.
