George served in World War I.
On 5 November 1919, George married Gladys I L Hanna at Ashfield, New South Wales.
George passed away on 20 July 1967 in Newtown, New South Wales, aged 79. He was cremated at Rookwood Crematorium, Rookwood, New South Wales.
