Biography

William was born in Kensal Green in 1864. His parents were George and Mary. George was a Stone Mason Labourer who had been born in Kensal Green and his mother was from Limerick in Ireland. William appears to be their only child. ^[1]

In 1881 the family lived in Harrow Road, Kensal Green. ^[2]

At the age of 25, on 15 March 1890 William married 18 year old Matilda Cutbush at Hounslow Heath. He was in the Army based at Aldershot. His father was listed as a Mason. ^[3]

The family must have been stationed in India for some time as 4 of their children were born in Bangalore.

William retired from the Army and by 1911 the family was living in Harlesden, where William was a Commissionaire. All 6 of their children lived there. The couple had been married 21 years and had 6 children in total. ^[4]

There is only 1 possible death for William in the Willesden area and that is in 1915. ^[5] A copy of the death certificate might corroborate this.
