Rachel Tuttle was born April 3, 1800, in Prospect, New Haven, Connecticut, a daughter of Obed Tuttle and Lucretia Clark. On September 30, 1818, Rachel married Andrew Smith, born in 1796, in Prospect, New Haven, Connecticut, a son of Ira Smith and Elizabeth Judson Smith. [1] Andrew's father was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War and DAR Ancestor #A105590. Applications for membership in the Society have been made by the descendants of Andrew Smith, and his wife, Rachel Tuttle. [2]
Rachel (Tuttle) Smith died November 3, 1878, in Prospect, Connecticut and is buried in the Prospect Town Cemetery. [3]
