Mrs. Julia Curtis, wife of Hiram Curtis, died at her home at Fall City, Friday evening, Oct. 20, at 8 o'clock, after a long and painful illness. The funeral services were held at the Waneka church Sunday afternoon. Rev. Coram of Menomonie delivered a touching sermon to a large aunience of sympathizing friends and neighBoris. The remains were interred in the Waneka cemetery.
Mrs. Curtis, nee Julia Tuttle, was born Feb. 14, 1838, in Connecticut, married to Hiram Curtis at Southington, Ohio, May 1, 1850, came to Dunn county in June of that year, settling in Spring Brook, where they have resided for more than 50 years. On May 1, this year,this worthy couple celebrated their golden wedding. The fruits of this happy union were 10 children, three of whom are dead. Those living are Win. Curtis of Irvington; Walter of St. Paul. Elbridge and Giles of Fall City ; Mrs. George Langdon of Eau Claire; Mrs. Guy Irving of Irvington; Mrs. Alfred Stavrum of Fall City.
Mrs. Curtis was of a quiet, home loving nature always a kind neighbor, a staunch friend, a faithful wife, a devoted mother and a true christian. The lonely husband and mourning children have the sympathy of the entire community, in this, their great sorrow.
