Biography

US Black Heritage Project
Hannah (Unknown) Lockhart is a part of US Black heritage.

In General Josiah Lockhart's will 1853 Hannah was gifted to Josiah's daughter, Margery Lockhart Gore about the time of Margery's marriage in 1833. Margery promptly released Hannah with the admonition that Hannah was not to tell her where she was going and not to write.

After the Emancipation Proclamation, Hannah did return to visit Margery. Hannah had been living in Ohio, as the story goes.
