Religion: Methodist. 1827 Hants Harbour, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Note: During this period at least, the family attended the Methodist Church in Hants Harbour and had two children, Hannah Maria and James Henry, Christened there. They may have been using this church for no other reason than the fact that there were no Anglican churches in existence in Island Cove (Islington) or nearby at the time. The two children had been previously Christened as Anglicans and this is registered at St. Paul's in Trinity.^[4]
