- This is the assumed wife of William Smitherman. There are no records at this time to show or prove who she is. She could be multiple women.
- William had 12 children. His youngest daughter, Nancy Rebecca (Smitherman) Atkinson is assumed to be the daughter of Gracie Latham because of these marriage records:

- The marriage is recorded as January 1, 1807. All of his children were born before that date. If it is correct that Gracey married this William Smitherman, Nancy is the only child born after this date.
- Some list the mother as Anna, however I've seen not evidence to support that. William's son, William James Smitherman did have a wife named Anna and the two William's do get confused with each other by researchers.
