Biography

Joane was born about 1575, she married John Parsons in about 1592 as her first known child, Edith, with John was born March 1593 , she died 21 March 1639/40 in North Nibley, Gloucestershire, England^[1]

Marriage

She was not the same as Joane Smith as other researchers have stated. Joane Flocke did marry John Parsons in Deerhurst, Gloucestershire which is about 30 miles north of North Nibley. ^[2] However church records indicate that they were a different couple. For example, the St. Martin's Church, North Nibley baptismal record for their daughter Agnes states that her father was "John, son of William." The John Parsons of Deerhurst was the son of George. Additionally, 1596 is three years after the birth of their first child, Edith.

Also Joane Smith married John Parsons in February 1622 in St. Andrew, Holborn, London.^[3]
