Uloth Uriah Utterback was born 10 Jan 1877 in Murray, Calloway Co., Kentucky, USA
[1]
to James Henry Utterback and his first wife, Frances Jane Curd.
[2][3][4]
He married Mavis Monroe Hay, daughter of William Pettus Hay and Tabitha Angeline Skaggs, on 23 December 1900. Uloth and Mavis moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1920; perhaps this is the reason they do not appear in the 1920 Census in either Kentucky or Texas.
[5]
He died 6 March 1933 in Amarillo, Texas from tuberculosis.
[6][7]
Mavis Hay Utterback died 23 January 1977.
[8]
Uloth and Mavis had the following children: [4][9]
Reba Hortense Utterback, b. 5 Jun 1902, d. 2 May 1991; m. Vernon LeRoy Hickerson.
James Henry Utterback, b. 1908, d. 1997; m. Elsa Bernice Hill.
Will Hay Utterback, b. 27 Aug 1910, d. 20 May 1993; m. Marie Willey on 18 Jul 1930.
Mary Katheryn Utterback, b. 8 Oct 1915, d. 20 Jun 1988; m. 1) William Elliott, 2) Roderick Parkinson.
Note: Although the "Utterback Book" by William Irvin Utterback [2] is used as a source, it is mainly used for lineage - many of the dates cited in the book are incorrect (and it only lists one wife for James Henry Utterback). Correct dates and names are taken from a family Bible. [8]
