Biography

Uloth Uriah Utterback was born 10 Jan 1877 in Murray, Calloway Co., Kentucky, USA ^[1] to James Henry Utterback and his first wife, Frances Jane Curd. ^{[2] [3] [4]} He married Mavis Monroe Hay, daughter of William Pettus Hay and Tabitha Angeline Skaggs, on 23 December 1900. Uloth and Mavis moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1920; perhaps this is the reason they do not appear in the 1920 Census in either Kentucky or Texas. ^[5] He died 6 March 1933 in Amarillo, Texas from tuberculosis. ^{[6] [7]} Mavis Hay Utterback died 23 January 1977. ^[8]

Note: Although the "Utterback Book" by William Irvin Utterback ^[2] is used as a source, it is mainly used for lineage - many of the dates cited in the book are incorrect (and it only lists one wife for James Henry Utterback). Correct dates and names are taken from a family Bible. ^[8]
