Biography

James Vaughn was born about October 21, 1794 in Llangwm, Monmouthshire, Wales^[1][2], son of Mathew and Mary.

James married Catherine Richards (born in Monmouthshire about 1788; died in Carmen, Henderson, Illinois, United States on March 8, 1870) in Monmouthshire. Their daughter was Rhoda (Vaughn) Marsden (1837 - 1904).

In 1841 (aged ~46), James was living with his wife, Catherine (50); and their children, Rhoda (3), Catherine (20), Jane (7), Matthew (10), and Charles (8).^[3]

James arrived in New York, United States on 22 Jun 1850 on the Java. ^[4]

James died on July 26, 1851 in Sharonville, Hamilton, Ohio, United States aged 56.
