While sources and family trees differ as to the parents of this Joseph Verry, a supporting source that shows his wife as Ruth Foster, daughter as Ruth, and immediate ancestry as parents Thomas Verry & Elizabeth Proctor, grandparents Samuel Verry & Alice Woodis, and great grandmother Bridget is: 'The History Of Salem Massachusetts' by Sidney Perley, Volume III 1671-1716, Salem, Mass. Sidney Perley 1928 (Chapter 1, pages 1 &2). Furthermore, it shows another Joseph Verry as husband of Hannah King, son of Benjamin Verry & Jemima Newhall, grandson of the above Samuel Verry & Alice Woods.
