Biography

William Vettleson was born in Dalton, Ottertail County, Minnesota to parents Frans (Frank) and Mari (Mary) Vettleson of Beltrami County, Minnesota.

He married Martha Larson on Jan. 25, 1898. They were divorced in 1901 at Beltrami County, Minnesota.

He moved to Canada in 1902 and became a Canadian citizen in 1906. The spelling of his last name was changed to "Vetleson." He married Clara Augusta Moen as his second wife, presumably following his divorce from Martha.
