In 1901 and 1911 he was living in Nottingham with his parents and siblings. His father was a lace manufacturer. [2][3]
Geoffrey was awarded the Victoria Cross for bravery while on service in World War 1. On 14 October 1915 he held a barrier across a trench in the Hohenzollern Redoubt, France against heavy German grenade attacks. [4]
Geoffrey also served in World War 2. Between the wars he took a law degree and after qualifying as a solicitor he became a partner in the London law firm Slaughter and May. After WW2 Geoffrey had a successful career in management and administration. He became a writer and speaker on the subject of social systems analysis and the complex patterns of social organisation.
Geoffrey married twice [5][6] and spent much of his later life living in Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. He passed away in Goring in 1982. [7][8]
