Biography

Ernest was born in 1876. He was the son of Ernst Wagner and Mollie Hoffman. He was a flutist in the New York Philharmonic in the early 1930's. At that time he was almost 60 years old. He lived across the street from Carnegie hall, and also taught music, especially flute. He was said to be related to the composer Richard Wagner. He is the author of the book "Foundation to Flute Playing: An Elementary Method", published in 1918 and still in print. He passed away in 1954.
