Robert Walker, who died recently at his home, at Kennett Square, was a former resident of this city, having been a familiar figure among the volunteer firemen of the city a number of years ago. At one time he was a chief of the Water Witch Fire Company. He moved to Kennett Square in 1873. He was 79 years old.
Mr. Walker was born in Wilmington and for a number of years conducted a cigar store at Sixth and Orange streets. Mrs. Leo J. Martin, of No. 2305 Washington street, and Frank D. Walker, of No. 1224 Tatnall street, are his children. He will be buried from his home, in Kennett Square, on Friday afternoon.
