Mrs. William Presswood Dies at 8th Line Home
A native of Lancashire, England, Elizabeth Walker Presswood died at her home on the 8th line on August 4th.
She was the wife of William Presswood, and daughter of the late William and Mary Walker. Mr. and Mrs. Presswood came to Canada 43 years ago, settling first at Norval and then moving to Glen Williams. They lived for seven years at Sprucedale, then returned to the Glen and for 25 years have lived on their 8th Line farm. She was in her 69th year.
A member of the Anglican church, Mrs. Presswood belonged to Stone School farm forum. Surviving are her husband, two children, Jack and Edna, Mrs. Gordon Spence of town and one brother in Canada, Robert Walker of Canada. There are three sisters and a brother in Lancaster, England; Mary, Sarah, Mrs. Margaret Beaumont and Thomas. Mrs. Presswood was employed for some time at the Beaumont Knitting Mills where she lived in the village.
Archdeacon W.G.O. Thompson conducted the funeral service on Wednesday at the McClure Funeral Home, Georgetown. Pallbearers were Fred Picott, Stayner, Ern Batkin, Harold Campbell, Clarence Spence, Gilbert Sinclair, and Ben Case. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown. [1]
