Mary was born in 1839.
She was married first to Adrian Deslondes, the son of sugar plantation owner, Andre Deslondes. Her children from her first marriage were adopted by her second husband, Benjamin Harris Brewster.
From the March 13, 1886 Critic Record General Duncan S. Walker and Mr. Robert J. Walker escorted the remains of their sister from Philadelphia to the District. Funeral services were held in Philadelphia in the morning. The funeral in the District will be held at General Walker's residence, 202 A Street Southwest. It is hoped that her son, Andre Brewer, who is a Lieut. in the Army on duty in New Mexico will be here in time to attend the interment.
Former Attorney General Brewster will accompany the remains to this city. Mrs. Brewster was the daughter of Robert J. Walker, who was Secretary of the Treasury and a descendant of Benjamin Franklin. [Note: her mother was the descendant of Benjamin Franklin, not her father.]
She died in 1886 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is buried in Washington, District of Columbia
