Biography

Banister was a son of Captain Byrd Wall and Elizabeth Wade Wall. He was born in 1784 in North Carolina, and his brothers included Hampton Wall, Robert Wall, and Anderson Wall [1]

He served in the War of 1812 from Daviess County, Kentucky, where he was a Private in Captain James Tyler's 10th Regiment, Kentucky Mounted Volunteers.

In 1816, he married Sarah "Sally" Thompson in Daviess County, Kentucky [2].

Banister died in 1844 in Daviess County, Kentucky [3] [4].

Research Notes

A previous version of this profile had birth location as Person County, North Carolina (without a source). This cannot be correct, as Person County was formed in 1792, after the birth of Banister. For now, the birth location is just North Carolina.
