When William E. "Willie" Waller was born in September 1897, in Lake Village, Arkansas,[1][2] his father, William, was 30 and his mother, Gustive, was 24.[3] He married Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Roberts[4] on February 8, 1919, in his hometown.[2][5] They had three children in 16 years. He had five brothers and four sisters.
