Note: Mom wanted me to tell you Vinnie died last Sat. He had been to a viking game and a hockey game during the week and was fine. He just went to sleep. Mom and Vinnie had remained close over the years and he also was my sister Judy's godfather. It saddens her to know she is the only one left on that big family picture.Vinnie's wake is tonight (Dec 21, 2000), he will be wearing a Notre Dame cap, his favorite music will be played, his Christmas mink bow tie will be on and a cigar in his pocket. Mass will be Friday at The Lady of the Lake at Medicine Lake a nd memorials will be for DeLasalle High school.
Obituary:
Vincent J., age 90, of Medicine Lake. Precedded in death by devoted wife Dolores; parents John and Celia Wallerius; sister, Sr. John Cecelia Wallerius, CSJ; brothers Walter & Raymond Wallerius. Survivied by sons Ron & wife Dolly, John & wife Mary Liz; daughters Rita Ann Stevens & husband Claude, Joanne Rabatin & husband Lenny, Mary Lu Theis & husband Jerry, Therese Illes & husband Jerry; 20 loving grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Katie Foss & IreneVolduc; brother-in-law Tom Bolduc & wife Loys; dear friend Mel Doyle; many relatvies, close friends and neighbors. Vincent was a proud graduate and valedictorian of DeLaSalle High School and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the owner of J.F. Wallerius and Sons Wholesale Distributors. His greatest joy was spending time with his family at Medicine Lake. He also had a wonderful collection of music which he loved to share with family and friends. A special thank you to Doctors Shelly Anderson & Daniel Day, his special nurses, Bonnie and Herdis, his nursing assistant 'The Chief', and all the staff at Ambassador Good Samaritan Center. Funeral Services 9:30 AM Friday from Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chape. 39th & West Broadway. Mass of Christian Burial 10AM Friday that the Church of ST. Joseph of Medicine Lake, Rockford Road at Northwest Blvd., Plymouth. Interment Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation Thursday 4-7pm with prayer service at 6:30PM at Gearty-Delmore Robbinsdale Chapel. Memorials are preferred to the Vincent J. Wallerius Scholarship Fund, DeLaSalle High School, 1 DeLaSalle Drive, Mpls., MN 55401.
